Mr. Ball focuses on products liability litigation against the world’s biggest vehicle and tire manufacturers, handling matters involving tire failures, rollover incidents, airbag failures, seat failures, fuel fed fire cases, and related design and manufacturing defects. Mr. Ball currently serves as President of the Attorneys Information Exchange Group (AIEG), a national organization dedicated to sharing information and ideas among member attorneys for the benefit of clients who have been affected by dangerous and defective products. He also specializes in commercial disputes, defamation, and damages cases involving catastrophic injuries, such as TBIs, paralysis and amputations.
In trying cases across 10 different states and in federal courts, Mr. Ball has distinguished himself among the nation’s top trial attorneys, earned some of the legal profession’s highest honors. In 2023, he was honored with the prestigious Trial Lawyer of the Year award from Public Justice, the nation’s largest plaintiff-oriented association, for his pivotal role as co-lead counsel in securing a $49.3 million verdict against conspiracy theorist Alex Jones. The case was fought on behalf of one victim of the 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary School mass shooting.
Also among his long list of trial victories is a $1 billion jury verdict against Mitsubishi on behalf of a man left quadriplegic after his vehicle’s seatbelt design failed during a crash. This landmark victory included $176 million in compensatory damages and an additional $800 million in punitive damages. Eventually, the court denied Mitsubishi’s request for post-trial relief and granted Mr. Ball and his team’s motion for delay damages in addition.
He not only showcases exceptional trial strategies and meticulous preparation in his own cases, but also dedicates time to training other lawyers on these skills through speaking engagements and CLEs. In this free time, he is a professional tarpon fly fisherman, competing in tournaments and exploring renowned fishing spots.
